If a 2 yr old or anyone else eats anything and doesn't fully chew/swallow, then lays down to go to sleep, there's a good possibility of choking. This isn't exclusive to bananas, any food would do this. So, maybe the answer is not to feed your 2 yr old anything then immediately put him/her down for a nap, or the night. Make sure he/she gets the snack in enough time to finish 30 minutes before bedtime. Good luck!

Bananas are very good for you and will not hurt your child by eating them before bed. I dont know why your parents would tell you that. I have 3 kids and they are fine. they are banana lovers also. Its good for your child so why take away something that is good for his/or her health. The baby will not choke. good luck.

No, this is not true! Unless of course if he is lying down whilst eating them!
Bananas are a very good source of nutrition and contain potassium that we all need.
Far better bananas than biscuits or sweets before bedtime.

No but he shouldn't eat too much before he goes to bed and he should brush his teeth if he is eating a gooey high sugar snack.

No, that makes no sense.
I assume you don't mean sending the child to bed with one...
