How do you make it so that from one song to the next the volume doesn't fluctuate? I normally use media player, thanks

Oepn windows media player.
Go to View->Enhancements->Crossfading And Auto Volume Levelling

Turn on crossfading and increase the overlap time.

Some programs will allow you to produce mp3s which all have the same volume. The process is called 'normalization', and you can do it with Cool Edit, for example.

As for how to do it in real time, I don't know whether that is possible.

MP3Gain is a very good software that normalizes your mp3's volumes. It does not re-compress your mp3, like many other software do, which makes the quality lower.
