I don't know if things happen for a reason or if they just happen, but when you are presented with obstacles there is always hope and thats what counts...

I am agnostic and believe that everything happens for a reason. Whether that reason was pre-destined or not I'm not sure. I do believe that the hardships we endure in life make is stronger. I once read a quote that said "Pain is nourishment. You can't be brave if you've only had wonderful things happen to you." I strongly believe that. I know that if a lot of the bad things that have happened to me in life I wouldn't be where I'm at or who I am today. Believing that everything happens for a reason doesn't necessarily have to be a religious or spiritual belief. Can Atheists or Agnostics believe in Karma or 'What goes around comes around'?

Everything does happen for a reason. It's called "cause and effect". Everything action has a catylist and every action has a reaction.
Organized religion will tell you that when something happens it must be "God's will" or they'll try to offer an excuse for something bad happening by saying that "God must have had a plan--even though I don't understand it, I must accept it". God must have wanted that drunk driver to cross the line and kill that family of 5, including the new baby. God must have wanted you to lose your job (even though you spent too much time at YA on company time *L*). We can try to explain things away by saying that it's out of our hands, but I think in most cases, people are just using God as an excuse to avoid responsibilty, or a way to make people feel better when something bad happens to them.

If they believe everything happens for a reason, I wonder what they think the reason is for life. If they believe in the evolution theory, which has many fallacys even in the laws of thermal dynamics, what do they think the reason is for its happening?

No because everything is an accident. Your friend's, and family, your house. Everything cannot have a reason if you don't even have a reason. Hope that makes sense.

That relies upon. Are you implying that there is a few invisible sky lord that's screwing around with our lives... or Are you implying that there is a reason and result dating between issues/gadgets? Context is significant.

FACE IT DUDE! People don't want to believe, because of
the hypocritical way some, who CLAIM to be religous, teach
religion.
Athiests are in fact just as curious as believers. That's
obvious from their searching.
It's just human nature at work here.
Humans don't like being told what to think and do!

Things are caused by other things? Sure.
However, I don't believe in some grand purpose put in place by some sky being.

They believe there is no God.
But they have no proof, and that makes their belief a faith-based belief, and that is a religion.
They actually practice a religion they can't prove, and that makes them all a bunch of hypocrites.
