YES...contrary to what others have written. Pork is not the only meat that can contain tapeworms and other parasites, or else there would be no such term as "BEEF TAPEWORM"! Fish and birds, too, can carry tapeworm segments that can infect humans (and of course, pets).
I once wrote to "Outside Magazine" (I was worried about having eaten smoked salmon) and got a response saying this, "Luckily, tapeworm proglotids [segments] are 'exquisitely sensitive to heat'", you SHOULD be able to have your meat somewhat rare, so long as it's heated through. (I forgot what temp. actually kills them).
According to the Mayo clinic, "The good news is that you can help prevent tapeworm infection with good personal hygiene, such as washing your hands before eating. You should also take special care when traveling in developing countries, since tapeworm infection occurs more frequently where sanitation is poor and people regularly eat raw or undercooked pork or BEEF (caps mine). In fact, some studies have suggested that increasing travel to and immigration from these countries serve as a vehicle for the parasite's entry into the United States." (1)
Still, it's best to develop a taste for well-done meat, since this will minimize your risk of infection, not only for tapeworms, but the dozens of other things you can get by eating undercooked meat: salmonella, trichina eggs, E.coli, enterobacter (bacteria in human poop...how many McBurger's employees REALLY wash their hands after using the loo?), staphylococcus aureus and so on.
Oh one more thing: I was once in a lab, getting blood drawn and a poor guy in the next room was having to expel his feces (in front of several female lab workers who were laughing and screeching), to find the TAPEWORM HEAD!
When I asked the lab worker who was with me how he'd got it, she replied, "probably from UNWASHED SALAD GREENS"!!!
Nothing is safe...nothing! Another place humans CAN get it is from their cats' litter boxes (IF they don't wash their hands after petting Kitty!).

One can get infected by accidentally ingesting tapeworm eggs. This can happen by ingesting fecally contaminated foods and water, by touching your mouth with contaminated fingers, or by ingesting contaminated soil.
Adult tapeworms are very small in comparison with other tapeworms and may reach 15-40 mm (up to 2 inches) in length. The adult tapeworm is made up of many small segments, called proglottids (pro-GLOT-ids). As the tapeworm matures inside the intestines, these segments break off and pass into the stool. An adult tapeworm can live for 4-6 weeks. However, once you are infected, the dwarf tapeworm may cause auto infection (the tapeworm may reproduce inside the body) and continue the infection.

I like rare to medium rare steak. I also like raw beef or steak tartare. I don't hold anything against anyone who won't eat a rare steak, but on the other hand, I think what's the point of eating a done or well done steak of a decent quality. And yes, blue rare is OK with me. I grind my own hamburger and like it on the rare side if cooking a burger. I wouldn't consider my taste buds 'primal' I also enjoy sushi - not California rolls either.

The only way get parasites if the meat had a tapeworm in bed-ed in the meat. But you can get mad cow disease and you can die from that. So i wouldn't worry about the parasite's there is a few parasites that you can die from.. But they can be treated. But tapeworm are most common in fish that is not totally cook.

No. Not if you are eating meat processed in any semi-civilized nation.
Tapeworms can come from inadequately cooked pork, but the pig had to have the cysts in the muscle tissue to begin with.
