First way is to ask IRS for a transcript of the w2 and 1099 info in your account for years you need them.
They may ask you to complete a form requesting them.
note: irs records will not contain state witholding info.
Their # is 800 829 1040
If that doesnt work then you will have to ask the social security admin for your employment record. But that will probably not include withholding info except for soc. sec.

Social Security Administration won't have copies of W-2's. You can get a transcript of your returns from the IRS at no charge. This will probably show totals though, not detail. Why do you need the info? Transcript will probably give you the info you need. If you need an actual copy of your return, there is a charge. But even that would probably just show totals, not detail if you had more than one job in a year.

You can usually get the info for seven years back. For a return older than that, you might be out of luck, but probably wouldn't need it anyway.

It depends on where you filed them. was it HRA etc. otherwise you could call the IRS and they could send them to you. I dont know if it costs anything but they do still have your records I would try there first. good luck.
