Piss people off until they hang you on a stick?
If I don't live up to the standards of a fictional character, oh well. I'm not as strong as Superman, either, but I don't fret it.

Did he not say he was the way the truth and the life. What part of this did you not understand? The way? He is the way to the Father! The truth? Be ye without sin, the fullfillment of the law to live in love! The life? Follow me, live as I lived. He gave us the example to live by not just talk about it, or mouth the words and screw the actions! If you don't try or strive for it how can you ever make it?? Do you think that one day you will wake up perfect? It takes a lot of work on yourself to even strive for it you have to die to the world and want nothing of it or from it! Desire only those things of God which he has for you!
The understanding of the things I write here only comes from doing them. Till then you will never know, you may have an idea but know! It's impossible! The knowing is in the life of Christ, no other place can it be found.
Do the first step then come back and ask this question again. This is the first step in his life: Go out on the road travel 10,000 miles take no money ask for all things in the name of Jesus Christ, carry no scripture be in constant prayer & praise to the Father God In Heaven. Wittness his love to those you meet tell them of the blessings he has bestowed on you. This is the pilgrimage he set down for all of his followers, to live his life! Wear all white as a flag of purity to God! Then knock on a few church doors and ask for your needs in the name of Jesus Christ! You will not belive what they have to offer you till you pass through it!
Then come back and ask this question. I already know you will not be able to. I have done what I just laid out to you. This is my witness to you. I already know what you would go through, it is a rare person that will even attempt it let alone do 10,000 miles most even then only make it a few hundred. It takes faith and not a small measure. It takes a strong heart and most of all a deep commitment to God. To the point of laying your life down because you do. More & more each day till you have nothing left. Then you are free of the world & it's ways. And that is the dawning of a new day. Your points of view change, nothing seems the same anymore. You wonder why are all of these people like they are, don't they understand. No they don't, they are were you were when you started or worse. Stuck in the world, fast asleep.
Don't believe me. of course not you haven't lived one day of his life how could you!

The words of Jesus Christ taught me that salvation doesn't
come from becoming perfect. But from accepting our
imperfections. Knowing none of us have any business
looking down our noses at anyone else.
FORGIVENESS is the key to releasing all the karma, and
freeing onesself from this world.
After realizing this, the Holy Spirit helped me to overcome
my false pride as well. I got over wanting to get credit for
my ideas, which was making me procrastinate, (not get
started). To see how others ridicule, tell us we're crazy and
worrying, and our ideas won't work. And the next day, you will
hear them tell somebody the same thing you told them.
Now, I'm putting it out there 24/7. Planting the seeds for
thought, and trusting in God and the Holy Spirit to do the watering!

What Christianity teaches is that every person is born with a "stain" within them (often called "original sin") that causes them to natural want to do sinful things. (Have you ever seen a child who had to be taught to lie, or be greedy, or hit, etc.)
Jesus, who was actually God in human form, did not have the stain of sin within him, so he was able to live a perfect life. He then gave that life on the cross, died, and rose again in order that he might be able to wash the "stain" of sin from others.
Christians are people who believe in the ressurection of Jesus and acknowledge his leadership over their lives. This causes their hearts to be "reborn" so that they no longer have that stain of sin within them, and they are able to live a life that is sin free and perfect.
Unfortunately, they usually still have years of not living a sin free perfect life that has warped their morals, personality, and prespectives on life so that it takes years - usually the rest of their life - to get their minds renewed to think and act like they should.
Plus, no more how pure their motives or actions, they still have limited understanding of everything around them so they will make mistakes. And since they still live in a world where sin is so common, it is a struggle to get the good things done in the world. You can provide all the food needed for a starving nation, but if the evil ruler of that country wants to keep the people hungry and poor....
CS Lewis (they guy who wrote The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe) once asked God how come one of his Christian neighbors was so harsh and stingy, while the non-Christian next door was loving and generous. God's reply to him was that the non-Christian had been raised in a good family and learned to be that way. The Christian had not, but that he had improved from what he was before, and God would continue to improve him everyday. The non-Christian however would not improve with age.
As a Christian, our goal is to live a perfect life like Jesus did. If we could do it on our own, we would not need God. He is the one who each day makes us more and more like we should be.

You can never be what Jesus is. But you do put your best foot forward and try to live according to the laws of God. Its not a matter of being pefect like Jesus, but becoming closer to Him in our daily lives. This is achieved by accepting Him as your savior, and acknowledging that He died on the cross for your sins, and you repent of those sins, and invite Jesus into your heart and life.
You take a good look at not only your outer self, but your inner self as well. Do you smoke, drink, do drugs, cuss, think badly of others? Do you cheat, steal, remain angry at the world etc? These are all areas of your self that you need to look at and change. Once you become a born again christian, your body no longer belongs to you, but to the Lord. It becomes the temple of Jesus.
1 Corinthians 6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
God knows we will never become perfect, but it is through His grace and mercy and forgivness that we can be cleansed of our sins so we can grow closer to Him and to His son Jesus.

Being human beings, we cannot be expected to be exactly like Him.
He is there as an example, and even if people do commit some mistakes, He will not abandon them.
What's great about this is that you always have a CHANCE to change, to try to make the best and the right decisions, even if you've already done so much wrong.
What matters is that you TRY and that you act upon your decisions to follow him.

As Christians we strive to be like Jesus - we can never accomplish this though - as we are sinners, we have a sin nature passed down through man - Jesus did not have that sin nature as his Father was God - not a man. We cannot be perfect, no one can - but with Jesus we have the Holy Spirit that helps us, comforts us, is with us in times of trouble and our sinning. No we cannot be perfect, but we should strive to love like Jesus and be like Him. Blessings.

we try to emulate HIM as best we can, however, everyone falls short so this is where we pick ourselves up, brush ourselves up look around and say, " well gee whiz I messed up again. " then start all over again. as a note personally feel as though JESUS was not perfect but HE came the closest to being so.
