Instead of cereal? Is it better with something else? What kinds are the best? Also I have innocent smoothies are they as good as home made smoothies?

They are healthy but not a well-balanced diet without protein. Add egg or protrein powder if you are going to make them a large part of your diet. An occasional one would not hurt with a healthy diet.

Better than nothing or a greasy fry up yes. Natural ones are the best without added anything just fruit. If your not going to have cereal have ones blended with quite a bit of banana, it has more long acting carbohydrates in it. If you feel hungry by mid morning you probably need some cereal as well. Home made is always best in my opinion but lets face it making smoothies for breakfast is a pain and out of season is very expensive.

That solely depends on what kind of cereal you are eating at home. A lot of cereal from worldwide brands contain added sugar, salt which doesn't keep you going all day. It will give you a high then put you on a low.

If you want a healthy cereal that gives you slow released energy try making your own by getting ingredience like muesli from health food stores and mixing in fresh fruits like berries. Never ever eat cereal bars. I eat Jordan's multigrain porridge which combines oats, wheat, barley and rice for a great and healthy all rounder. I add organic honey or a bit of golden syrup to give it a sweeter taste. Don't ever use too much milk as it can be clogging to the skin or use soya.

Innocent smoothies are great as they contain no added sugar, no concentrates and no funny business! However, if you can make your own then that's great too. You can design your smoothie around your health needs. E.g. add ginseng to your smoothie to give yourself an energy boost or add zinc rich foods to treat acne etc. There are many books dedicated on the subject of smoothies and their health benefits with great recipes. Make sure you drink plenty though. If you get hungry to early during the day then your metabolism will slow and you will crave surgery, high fat snacks later.

Smoothies are good for you but so is cereal. If i were you I would continue to eat cereal for maybe 3 days of the week and have smoothies on the other days. At least then you can be sure that you're getting the best of both.

yes it is good and healthy to have smoothies for breakfast, but not all the time. smoothies can be full o fsugar and high in fat even though they are full of fruit and vitamin c. just be careful about what kind of smoothies they are and substitute them for other things sometimes.

Yes, I have been making my sister smoothies every morning for breakfast for a couple of weeks.

Make it from fresh, use 3/4 different fruits, including bananas, as this makes it thick. Add ice cubes, and some low fat yoghurt. Blend it. It is good for you as you are getting a high number of your fruit intake in one go.

Just make sure you have a balanced lunch and dinner.

How about trying Weatabix with your smoothie instead of milk

Of course it is and innocence is a great choice as they are made purely from fresh fruit.

You could try making your own and even consider adding things like nuts / yogurt for protein.

Enjoy!

Try this one if you work out a lot.

banana, blue berries, protein shake mix, some Greek yogurt and skimmed milk.

if you don't need the protein try blending in some fine ground oats to make it a hunger killer.
