365 and 1/4 days in a year, as the earth rotates around the sun. the 1/4 is why we have a leap year every for years to make up the extra day, or otherwise we would slip time and have winter in summer etc etc.

It was originally the Sumerians who divided the day into 24 parts! I don't know why - it could be to do with the position of the sun and moon in the sky!

THAT'S WHY OUR YEARS ARE 12 MONTHS .. AND OUR MONTHS ARE 30 DAYS .. AND OUR DAYS ARE 24 HOURS .. AND EACH HOUR IS 60 MINUTES ..
