Everytime something bad happens, they find a way to let God off the hook. In the Bible, God WAS responsible for all those natural disasters that killed millions of people. Today, however, most Christians fail to hold him accountable for such things like earthquakes, floods, tsunamis and famines.

It’s hard for them to advertise a god if he is evil so they make him as good as possible.

Even if it means making tons of excuses.

"Today, however, most Christians fail to hold him accountable for such things like earthquakes, floods, tsunamis and famines."

I don't agree with that. Can you give me some examples?

Yeah, I'd disagree with "most Christians" saying this. There's a difference between someone born in a "Christian" country who just calls himself a "Christian", and someone who has taken seriously the call to be a follower of Jesus Christ. That's what "Christian" really means. I hope you can find someone in your life--and not on some internet forum--who can help you work through the big questions, like this one. God rewards those who earnestly seek him.

From your question here, it appears that you do believe in spiritual forces that affect this world we live in, and it seems like you're not satisfied with the answers you've gotten so far. Might I suggest a yahoo answers forum maybe isn't the best place for the level of questions you are asking? It seems like you want a deeper answer, someone to bounce things off of, and this just isn't a good format for that. If you really want a good answer, I recommend you ring a local priest or pastor and ask to make an appointment. This way you can have a dialogue with a real person, and it's not just a 'one-shot' opportunity. You'll probably continue to be disappointed if you leave big questions of life up to the whims of a yahoo forum. A wise man once said, "Truth, to be understood, must be lived."

I wish you the best in your journey.

Good point Freeinquiry.. an apology is a dignified sense of sorrow unbecoming to one that is expected to do better. Defending the "All Mighty", for whatever the reason, is the ultimate test of ones faith. For religion to still play a significant role in today's modern society... is quite unexpected.

It doesn't support their belief for God to do bad things. That's why they invented the Devil, so that he can be blamed.
