I'm trying to find out how many police officers there are this year against figures from the past couple of years any help of avenues of research would be greatfully recieved

1. The Lancashire Police Authority's Annual Report for 2005/06 (Page 4) claims that it "preserved the existing numbers of uniformed officers in overall terms". Therefore there should be no change.

2. If you want exact numbers of filled posts (rather than budgeted posts, as above), then you should ask that the LPA provide you this further detail under the Freedom of Information Act. There is an online request form. You can ask for previous years figures too (as a further check on the data that you already have).
