Non-drinking couple soon to go on vacation, looking to experience being drunk, or close to it for the first time. We don't generally like the taste of alcohol, so a sweet(er) taste is important.

Midori & lemonade is a sweet drink. If you want a drink where you cannot really taste the alcohol, go for vodka & lemonade or a red soda.

I would say prepare to drink. Have plenty of water, and take a vitamin b12.
As for the drink, Long Island's are a little to liqoury tasting for me, so I instead prefer just as much potency without that raunchy taste.
I like to drink Kryptonite's -
1oz Midori
1oz Tuaca
1oz Malibu (coconut rum)
3/4 oz Blue Curaco
Fill with equal parts OJ and Pineapple, Top with 7 up. Shake in a shaker, pour into pounder glass, top with orange slice, pineapple wedge and a cherry.
These are potent. Be careful, they will hit you all at once.

Ah,the wonderful experience of enebriation. As long as its practiced carefully, with moderation, or excessive moderation in some cases, it can be quite a release.
First off, preperation is key. If you are going to party, party hard, but party effectively. Have plenty of water or gatorade available for later in the evening and into the next day. Potatoes, bread, or something greasy the next morning will help things out too. Also make prepeartions so you won't have to drive. Take a 'chaser' before you go out to play as well. They sell them at most convenience stores.
Okay, maybe I'm sounding overly cautious, but if your goal is to get drunk, you probably want more than a couple drinks!
I would reccommend mixed drinks. Beer is an acquired taste, and most places only sell bad beer. Too much red wine can make you feel sick the next day.
When you go for mixed drinks, do not be cheap about it, go for top shelf. Life is too short for bad drinks, especially on vacation.
There are a lot of fruity drinks available. I reccommend sex on the beach or a red death. You'll be feeling it after a couple of those, espeically if you haven't built up the tolorance. Cosmopolitans are great too.
If you like frappuccinos, go for a white russian. Made famous by the movie the big libowski, they are a great way to get the evening rolling. Have them make it with vanilla stoli.
Avoid doing random shots. Thats a good way to get sick, and pace it to a couple an hour with water in between. You'll have a great time.

Cazuela! It is served in a pottery BOWL and usually is filled with fruit chunks. One drink doesn't normally give me a buzz and I am "casual" drinker but a Cazuela will knock me on my butt! If you want to drink a couple drinks, try a Mai Tai, Bahama Mama, Loco, Singapore Sling...Also, another good one-drink cocktail would be an AMF (a.k.a. Adios Motherf@cker) or Adios Amigo depending on where you get it. I don't like the taste of alcohol either and these are all some of my faves...

special brew shandy , get some cans of special brew 9.2% and some bottles of lemonade pour your own pints of shandy 50/50 exactly this will give a sweet taste and a pleasant high im a drinker so i may have 10 pints of this, 5 should be ok for a non drinker try this at home to sample first if you like that you might be ok with budweiser by its self.
or baileys pored over ice or tia maria poured over crushed ice with cream are very sweet tasting , my personal favourite drink is a neat cocktail of seven star metaxa, jack daniels, jameson on ice

Well enjoy!!! A few sweet things that my strike your fancy are a mudslide....I make mine with ice cream, cream, vodka, kahlua, and baileys. It is so smooth you won't notice the alcohol. If you want to get really plastered and you like Gatorade....add some Gin and you've got drunk!!! Mint julips are sweet if you ask the barkeep to make it with ginger ale instead of soda water and don't forget a Mojito....sugar, mint, rum, sprite.

I like Dr Pepper and Captain Morgan (Spiced Rum)
You can barely taste the rum and it is sweet! I drink that everytime I go out.
