If you have been smoking only a few years, a whitening product, like Crest White Strips, should work. BUT if you continue to smoke it's like treading water and not going to get you anywhere. I drink a lot of coffee and my teeth would stay white if I would stop drinking the stuff. :)
If you have been smoking 10+ years, the stains become intrinsic stains meaning that its stained from the inside and you can't whiten them up unless you get veneers or crowns done on them. Even if you quit after smoking 20 years, your teeth won't get whiter.
EDIT: Lemon juice is acidic and will eat away at the enamel, so I suggest you not do that.

First and foremost, just throw your pack of cancer sticks(Cigarettes!!) in the dustbin just now. Then consult a dentist....most probably he would advise a thorough oral prophylaxis followed by polishing. Sometimes tooth-whitening treatment may also be required.... all depends upon the severity of your nicotine stains. By the way, if your cigarettes are right now lying in the dustbin, you have won half the battle. Good luck!!

Quit smoking. If you think your teeth look bad, you should see what your lungs look like.
