i guess it's like a messiah complex . . .
I had a lover who said, "jesus was ok, but he had a messiah complex."

To a certain extent, this is natural. Nobody wants to see another go down the wrong road in their life.
I could probably be labeled with the "savior complex", myself, which is ironic since I'm an atheist. I don't wish to stick it to anybody, though. I just wish the world was less superstitious.
I see my role here as being an educator. That's probably an arrogant position, since I'm sure there are some here more knowledgeable than me. However, I do know some, and apparently more than most on these topics. Still, I do try to restrict my "proselytizing" to appropriate forums such as this. I have atheist bumper stickers on my car and occasionally wear my "Beltway Atheists" t-shirt. But that's not as much to convert people as it is to let people know we exist. There's too much religiosity in this country and atheists are often made the fall guy because we're usually so invisible.

It's no a Religious statement. It's a personal thing about being a Hero. Fixing all that is wrong with anothers life, etc. SAVING THEM, even if they aren't aware that they need to be saved.

I hope I have a "Savior complex" - I love the Lord Jesus Christ. I have a personal relationship with Him - not religion. He is so good to me. I pray you find Him. Also I'm glad to be called a religious nut - thanks for the compliments.

Good call, although it's not surprising that when they don't get you to bow down and take their help they react badly is it? After all there are alot of people who are involved in many of the things you mentioned for the feeling of superiority in the first place.

You would probably call me a "religous nut." I certainly hope that you get saved, but that's your decision. If you want to reject Jesus Christ and go to hell, that's certainly your prerogative.
