I want to build by jewellery company www.madison-mae.co.uk but cannot afford really expensive advertising at this stage. How can I get my company out there more.

I'd get a second domain name. The one you have may be relavent to your company but it gives no clue to a casual surfer what you do.
EG, B&Q own DIY.com as well as BandQ.co.uk
Yellow pages will give you a free paper and web one liner. We get lots of calls from that

Try a business course at your local college etc, they are quite cheap, or a goverment funded one. You will learn marketing skills and much more. Also if you can, present your jewellry everywhere you go. Word of mouth is the best advertising so you need to get in front of as many mouths as possible. What about doing a local market or car boot sale.

Word of mouth is the cheapest I would guess so have jewellery parties at friends houses or friends places of work. Have little leaflets printed up at your local Kall Kwik or whatever printers you have near you or print your own at home. Write letters to magazines to see if they will feature an item of your jewellery in their magazine. Post leaflets through people doors with Christmas coming everyone is looking for present ideas. Many small shops exchange flyer's or business cards with other shops, and those are easy and inexpensive to make.
It's better to come across as small and exclusive than to buy ads on cheap-looking places. You could arrange jewelry parties where only a group of people are invited. A friend of mine does this with clothes and it's very popular.

Check out www.wallaroundtheworld.com an internet marketing site with some free spots. Bigger spots cost a few bucks but its for a lifetime on the site. Definitely a worthy investment compared to other rates out there.

Tell every single person you speak to!
Put your website in every letter, invoice, business card and bit of paper you give out!
Put your business in the yellow pages and phone book for free as a line entry!
Wear your jewellry evrywhere you go and try and get people to notice it so they will ask where you got it from!

Door to door leaflet distribution. Saturated distribution of any product works. I have a distribution company of my own and we generate so much business for al types of company day and daily.
