Alice, it sounds like you dont want to do it...? If you are nervous and are having second thoughts, dont do it. When in doubt, say no. It is natural to be a little nervous the first time with anyone new. But, there is a difference in being nervous and being unsure. But, in all reality, if you were really comfortable with this person and wanted to do it, you would be fine. Make sure its what you want, it sounds like your young, and maybe you should wait to see if your ready. I had only been with one other person until I got with my boyfriend now, and I was so comfortable with my boyfriend now, I didnt even think about it. It just happened. And I didnt regret it at all. Make sure you wont regret it, stay calm, and USE PROTECTION. Stay safe, and good luck to you.

Excited before...

nervous just before....

nerves disappear when involved in it.

Scarlet really doesn't know what she's talking about on this one. there is considerable difference between making love and just sex. The former is really emotional and special the later is just like playing sport. Empirical evidence, I'm a guy and have done both numerous times and probably will again soon.

So if you want a guy to make love to you make sure there is emotion involved.

Wait, if you are just having sex for the first time I do not think that can be called making love, don't you have to love the person in order to make love? any way sex for the first time with someone is exciting, new full of suprise, but there is definetly something about it that is nerve wracking, maybe a preformance driven or somthing

Whether you wait for 50 years or not, the point is that you will be nervous for the first time you have sex (except you want to be a nun) because it is the time you are seeing yourselves naked. Except when you're tipsy but believe me, you'll have your regrets later so its better to be sane.

The cool aspect is when the man(who might not be nervous and maybe yes), helps you to lose your shyness/nervousness by the way he y'know.....does his stuff so that it now becomes a part of you.

I've been with my boyfirend (my first) for 6 weks, and we've talked about having sex, and I really want to, but am also really nervous. I stay at his every weekend, and the last one I was sitting there the whole time thinking "is something going to happen, because I really want to" but he's a virgin too, and I think we're both scared of pressuring each other into it. But yes, I can't wait to experience it with him, but I am really nervous about it hurting, or doing it wrong, or dissappointing him- so many things to worry about!

I'm sure we'll be fine when we get down to it, but the thinking about it drives me mad!

I'm sure you will be fine too, as long as you are comfortable with him, completely.

making love and having sex are two different things and have a totally different approach. with my ex: first night together, we were both so nervous, nothing came out right(we liked each other so much, none of us knew how to react and what to do to make it ok for the other one)...after a few weeks: we made love five times a day, and it felt grrreeeat!

Make love sounds nicer? Make love is just a man's way of telling a woman what she wants to hear. There's nothing wrong with the word sex, and you should stop trying to demonize it with catholic guilt.

Sick and tired of that nonsense, is all. Had to get that off my chest.

When you have sex with a person for the first time, of course it's a bit nervous. You are going to be naked and vulnerable with this person for the first time. Wow. But getting a bit nervous is normal and natural.

Now, are you using protection each and every time? THAT is the question.

I don't know ... when can you come over? That way I'll be able to make love and get nervous at the same time!

Yes, but that's what makes it so exciting! Everything is so new, I loved that initial stage in dating when your heart races and you're just getting to know someone (physically). Have fun with it!
