Well Europeans are smart enough to realize that it is just a bunch of garbage....they have lower crime rates because of it. And I don't know if anyone has noticed...Europe is a much better place to live. Anyone who doesn't agree should read, Letter to a christian Nation by Sam Harris.

Europeans are no different from Americans. They have the God given ability to reason and to make a choice. I know there are some Europeans that believe in God as I have friends in the Netherlands that do. I know there are Americans that do not believe in God as they have so stated on this site. You also have the choice. All of this info is in the bible, but in a much more sophisticated and all encompassing way.

Who says Americans believe in God and Europeans don't? First of all, you need to define which God you're talking about. Most people around the world believe in God, but God has been defined in many different ways by different religious groups.
So many Americans and Europeans believe in God, relatively few do not believe in any god at all. And many people have written on this subject, including me - just now.

That is an unfair statement. Even as an American I can see this. Do a little research and find for yourself how many Americans are aethiest. There is a huge chunk of Europe that doesn't believe in God, but you are saying all. Look at Poland or Italy, huge God loving populations.

There was a war in Europe called the Wars of Religion. I think "religion" you are referring to here must have lost. Those who managed to escape alive ended up eventually in the USA. (Here I am talking about the roots of the "non-conformist" churches of which most of the US seems to be made up).
The 18th Century Age of Enlightenment was an historical intellectual movement, which advocated Reason as a means to establishing an authoritative system of aesthetics, ethics, government, and logic, which, they supposed, would allow human beings to obtain objective truth about the universe. included many prominent European philosophers such as Thomas Paine, Voltaire, Jean-Jacques Rousseau, and David Hume questioned and attacked the existing institutions of both Church and State. This intellectual movement grew into the rational basis behind the humanist and secularists movements that are for instance the basis of the French republic.

They don't? News to me.......
Europeans (at least France I've lived there) are very traditional or anti-traditional. the traditional very much believe in god and go to church often, as tradition dictates. The anti-traditional (usually the young) are so because they want to live in a modern age not tied to the past like the traditionalist, so they reject almost everything the the traditionalist push on them; especially religion. However, most still believe in God, they just don't know what to believe, at least not with help from anyone but the traditionalist.

I think you got it wrong. There are many Europeans that believe in God, there are many Americans that do too others don't, and then there are those like you who think THEY ARE GOD and hold the copyrights to all truth.

Europeans believe in God (that's why they have so many churches, you know), but they don't believe so much in christian prejudices developed in middle ages. Many Europeans are becoming more spiritual and though they are still church members, developed more personal relationship with God

I'm American and I don't believe in the Christian God. I'm Agnostic, thanks very much.
And who said that Europeans don't believe in God? Have you actually met any Europeans? Just last week, a Belgian kid in my French class blew up at me for being Agnostic.
