a lot of times (lately) I find myself daydreaming about the kind of appartment I'd like to have; something simple but stylish.

the problem, as always, is financial, :)) i know i may never have what I desire but I just can't stop thinking about it.

how do I deal with this little escapist fantasy

thanks

I think t is pretty normal. It is just another sort of fantasy. It's not strange to desire something you don't or can't have. I fantasize about a mansion all of the time! :-)

Sounds like a healthy daydream to me, why not choose the things in your current environment that would make it more like your daydream? If your thinking of the space adjust it to fit some thing in your desires, new pillows, drapes, a brightly painted room in your favorite wild color!!!!! Aspirations are perfectly normal have fun.

A little escapist fantasy is normal and even healthy. If you want it bad enough you will strive for and obtain it. If not, at least you're enjoying the fantasies.

I used to do that all the time. It's a form of escapism and is not unhealthy unless it starts to take over your life. Just enjoy the thought of it and hopefully one day, it might become a reality. HTH : )

Day dreaming is normal and healthy. Dream your goals and work towards achieving them and making them real. As you achieve one, you may like to move over to another one.

Daydreams are fine, goals are also fine - daydreams help us order and cope with our everyday life, goals give us direction.
It seems unlikely that your fantasy is obsessional.

I don't see why you need to escape. You may have your dream come true someday. Never know what the future holds.

Set goals

Save money

Get a loan

Buy and furnish your apartment.

Make your dream come true! :)

(then start working on the next one)

Try to get a better job to fufill your dream to afford it. Called motivation to fulfill it. Dreams are great to a person's mind, and can motivate us to do them.
Good luck

not unhealthy, just maybe unrealistic. try to step outside of material wants. i finally had to; i had to accept that i'd always be too poor. now it's such a relief to be happy with so little!
