My brother wants me, him, and his girlfriend to all go to therapy together. Her and I do not get along and she basically treats me like ****. She talks **** about me to everyone. I've done nothing wrong, except express that my brother deserves better (she's a complete *****). He is blind to all of this and now him and I barely talk. When it gets to the point of "therapy" isn't it time for him to call it quits? Which relationship should be more important to him?

It sounds as if your brother loves this witch. He loves you and wants to continue to have a relationship with you. He does not want to give up either of you. If he has made the effort to suggest therapy, why not try it? The therapist may end up giving you and the witch guidelines, such as certain subjects being avoided and no talking behind each others backs. Even if her behavior does not improve, your brother would see that you are following the guidelines of the therapist.

I literally cannot stand my sister-in-law. She and my brother have been married for 18 years. She is absolutely horrible, but I will not allow her to have any affect on my brother's and my feelings for each other.

Don't let the witch win.

Wow.

Hey, are you a highly sensitive person? Any of the three of you? Coz you gotta watch out for transference; get the right therapist.

I think you could go separately and not with those two, unless your family has always been big on therapy to work out basic differences.... Wow.

You've said your piece to your brother and they're saying theirs to you, so I don't understand why it's taking therapy. If you take yourself out of the equation a bit, let him have more alone time with her and all his time with you be good, not foul, then he might come around if she's so bad and not just different than you'd want for you....
