The air conditioners emit chloro flouro carbons (CFC's) which deplete the ozone layer which protects the living organisms from the harmful radiations from the outer space. The mechanism of ozone depletion is : when UV radiation from the outer space reaches the O3 layer, the ozone molecule splits into single 'O' molecule and O2 molecule. They will again combine to form an O3 molecule of ozone. This process is a continuous cycle. The chlorines and carbons in CFC's react with the ozone molecule chemically and finally destructs it. A single chlorine molecule can destroy upto 1 lakh molecules of ozone. Hence the usage of such nature destroying things must be strictly prohibited and the activity of planting trees must be done at highest level inorder to cool the temperatures of the Earth.

most of the A.Cs are not environment friendly as they release CFCs[chloro floro carbons] which are not healthy for environment as they deplete the ozone layer and let the UV radiation enter the torosphere of the atmosphere harming the living organisms
