To tell you the truth there is gonna be some pain regardless.I dont want to scare you or lie and say there wont be.The way I got over the same situation is I imagined the needle on different places of my body.when I felt more comfortable around a certain area I thought that was a good place. But what will help if the skin is used to being exposed more which will make it less painful.I got mine on my forearm and its pretty big.It didnt hurt cause that part of my arm isnt sensitive.Honestly the only time I felt any pain was after I got it and it was healing and my friends kept hitting it.That hurts.GOOD LUCK!!!

Many people feel everything differently. (ie. My chest hurt like a sob, but a friend said hers felt great and barely hurt) so it varies, but I know for a fact that the most painful places on the body to get tattooed are areas with thin skin, a lot of tough hair follicles, mucus membrane, skin over bone, areas where a lot of fat and nerve endings are....etc

That means you can trust your upper inner arm, genital region, the inside of you lip, face, ribs, chest, fingers, feet to hurt. That is not imited to those spots, though, that's why I described the areas of the body instead of just specific body parts above.

It all hurts/stings/burns, though. Unless you like the feeling of it, it's all gonna hurt...

Everyone's pain tolerance is different. I have 10. People on here have mentioned places that I have mine. Ankle, wrists, spine. Yes, the bony areas DO hurt but I must say that my band around my arm (Underneath) was the most painful of them all. There are soooo many nerve endings there. It was the only one that brought tears to my eyes.

As usual, I agree with Miss Murder.

My most recient tattoo starts on my calf, goes up onto my knee and up to my thigh. The calf and knee area hurt to the point where I thought I was going to cry. Compared to the tattoo on my ankle which was nothing and the one on my butt which I didn't even flinch for. If you get one, pain wouldn't be the deciding factor as far as I'm concerned.

Anywhere on bone, i have a dragon (amongst other things) that starts on my shin bone and passes down over my ankle and curls up over my shin again and around my leg until it reaches half way up my thigh, then i have a tiger chasing the dragons tail that ends on my hip, also the back of your knee really hurts but it's mostly boney bits, hope that helps.
