Just by removing disturbances we cannot achieve peace of mind. We need to live and conquer that. Peace of mind can be achieved only when we are over and above life.
Life always poses challenge to the mind by hiding the next thing to happen. When the mind chases life it runs even faster and in the end, mind will only get exhausted and frustrated. Just redirect mind in something else - like spirituality.
A story is there, a puppy was chasing his own tail. However fast he chases, the tail is always upfront. The mother dog told the puppy to 'knock it off' and go away. The puppy then realized once it stopped chasing its tail, the tail just coming behind it.

Actual peace of mind is a little abnormal. It means that the mind is completely at rest. Which is not achievable until you are dead. But the most nearest thing is to have the mind focused on just one thing. Because our mind always works with several topics.
e.g. say you are sitting in a pleasant sofa, closed your eyes, and do nothing. You will feel that you are thinking of today's work, yesterday's, even tomorrow's, etc, etc. This is called the normal working nature of mind.
But if you follow "Krishna", you will be able to concentrate on things more easily, and will achieve a sort of peace of mind. If you want to achieve complete peace of mind and simultaneously a constant pleasure of mind then you have to devote your whole life towards meditation, like monks. But its possible.
To give you an idea of how hard it is, these are some of the people who in my opinion achieved complete peace of mind:
Bhagoyan Buddha, Jesus Christ, Mahabir (Jain), Shree Ramkrishna, swami Vivekananda and Monks who just didn't need publicity to satisfy their minds.

This is the easiest thing to do but is found to be very difficult to acieve for many.
Peace of mind is the blossom of contentment . Contentment is the abscence of greed . If greed is eradicated , peace of mind will come in. This can be achieved if we have confidence in ourselves and do not have enmity towads any one . If we understand that whatever we accumulate and aquire even in mind , we will note able to taqke with us while we go and that all that we aquire and know will be of use only in this world .
Just as we need fuel for trasnsportation in this world and do not need anything for travel in the space , need money for our life in this world only and so we do not have to accumulate nything more than what we require for a sustenabce here . if we reaqlize it , the quality of greed will be abscent . Once greed goes away , peace will come in.It is for thoise who can not do this by thier efort and mind , that the forms of God have been devised . Just focus your mind on some God and believe firmly that God would help you have peace of mind by killing the thought of greed .you can achieve it ..if you sincerely believe in it .

Peace of mind is a state of the mind. This differ from person to person depending on their particular backgrounds and culture.. If one is not stressed out, one is usually at peace. Some people maybe at peace amidst a crowd and some in their solitary confinement....Find yours by looking deep into your heart and soul..what are the things that upset you? Then try to eradicate them one by one...until you are at peace with yourself and with the world.

Peace of mind is difficult to come by.But one good reason for this is not to have any desires, thats very difficult to come by, for sometimes every second we do have some want or need or dreams to come true and we try earnestly to make it true . If this doesnt happen u r upset and the peace u had vanishes. It is tough to be peaceful while young perhaps when we are older we can be peaceful.

Peace of mind can not be achieved my dear neeraj, it is rather attained. Attained through constant practice. Discover some time in your regular routine and sit in a calm place and start meditating. By meditating I mean concentrate your mind on some object or utter a mantra of your choice silently. This would help you attain peace of mind.
