I'm from Sweden and my Grandmothers aunt immgrated to East Providence in Rhode Island in 1913. Now, I wish to know everything about immigrants to Rhode Island. I have checked census records but would like to know more about the City. Can you give any advise on books, websites or just share your thoughts?

Thanks...

Hey invincibl...,

Immigration to Providence means how someone came to there. Normally, back then, it would have been via a ship. You could start looking at Passenger Manifests for the 1900s.

Also, you could check the GENFORUM, and LDS Family Search for specific Surnames.

A really good way to determine who was there, generally, would be to visit the Cemetaries or the cemetary records available online.

I was going to recommend the census but you have that covered. Try ask.co and type East Providence+history.
