Yes, and from spirituality, I realized that ...

I am the dream, dreaming as the dreamer.
God is the dreamer, dreaming as me.

Because not all people know how to have, or can recognize, a spiritual experience outside the confines of a religion; and most people will at some point have such an experience that they'd want to talk about with a person or people with knowledge of such matters and more experience.

That said, that's how I like religion: As a guide and a teacher when the need is there, not a be-all-end-all definition of what is relevant and what is not.

It's no good believing in 'religion', you have to find the correct and true one. For myself, I've proved (and it can be proved) that there is a Creator of everthing, and that the Bible is the Word if the Creator.
It's just that most people can't be bother to read the Bible, they let others explain it for them without having things justified with the Bible, and that is why so many are misled.
If you want to know the truth about God, the universe and everything then it's a good idea to have a Bible study with the Jehovah Witnesses. They look at the Bible as a whole, and not just certain convient sections. Then it becomes something that is down to individual experience, as noone can be spiritual for you...

why do we still believe in religion?, well shouldn't we. does religion become less important over time, or do u think we have become so intelligent as a species that it is no longer required to give us meaning and hope in this life. religion plays a huge role in society..it binds people and offers hope and support in circumstances beyond our understanding. there is a huge difference between faith and religion however.
people can belive in a God and practise their faith and have a relationship with God without the interference of a 'church' or an esatblishment laying down their interpreted versions of 'truth'. personal experience can either inspire somone to have faith and believe in something much bigger than themselves with a purpose we will never understand but accept. or it can make a person bitter and untrusting and make them feel as if they are the only force that affects their lives.
at the end of the day it is a depply personal choice and a great topic for debate, but noone has the right to try to force somone to belive as they do or ridicule if they have no faith themselves.. we are individulas with free will and free thinking.
that is why there will always be war and death and the need for a deeper understanding of why we are here at all.

Sometimes you cannot explore new terrain without a map or guide to indicate hazards, routes and points of interest. You can enjoy the walk up Mount Snowdon, but you really need to study the route you are planning to take. Same with faith. It is useful to consider what people have already discovered andd making those discoveries part of our experience.

Why does the world still believe in religion? Because there is a need within each one of us for something greater than ourselves to lean on. Man is a very limited being. We cannot survive without outside help. The basic essentials of life are things that we can't produce ourselves, such as the air we breath and the food we consume. Those limits make us look to something greater than ourselves for life itself and that is what we call religion. Humanists look to science, Christians look to Christ but that basic need in humans makes us look for a god by nature. The challange is to find the true God and that is what all the fuss is about. There are a number of "gods" that we can trust and most of them are not trustworthy. One of the things that some lean on is "experiences" as you mentioned. The problem is that they are very unreliable and can vary from situation to situation. Jesus said in Matt 7:22 "Many will say to Me on that day, `Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?' 23 "And then I will declare to them, `I never knew you; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.' Here were people who had all the spiritual experiences, but they did not know the true God. Trust the Bible, it is His Word.

Making up your own version of god based on your own experience and perception is as valid as any other religion. All religions were made up/adapted by some person at some point in the past.

I don't belive in any form of god(s).

As you get to know God by reading his Word, see what He's done in other people's lives, obey his teachings and then see how He defends you, you'll have more of those individual experiences you're talking about, and, as Jesus promised, they'll be more powerful.
