Honestly, it depends on your taste. Country? Rock? Classic rock? Crooners? Jazz? You can perform a Yahoo! search on any of these genres + wedding songs for a list or album citing. Or, contact a local DJ service and ask them for suggestions based on your tastes.
I, myself, personally, have seen first dance songs from Rod Stewart to The Dan Band (a spoof group that covers female soloist songs with vulgar lyrics), from Frank Sinatra to Charles Mingus (world-famous jazzer), from classic ballroom-style music to R&B and hiphop. It's clearly a matter of cultural upbringing and musical taste.
If I were getting married tomorrow, I'd probably have them play "If I Had a Million Dollars" by Barenaked Ladies, or something by Blue October, such as "Calling You" or "18th Floor Balcony".

My husband and I danced to "I swear" by John Michael Montegomery it was the first song we ever danced to and it means a lot because it is so true especially the second verse.
see the questions in your eyes
I know what's weighing on your mind
You can be sure I know my part
Cuz I stand beside you through the years
You'll only cry those happy tears
And though I'll make mistakes
I'll never break your heart
I swear by the moon and the stars in the sky
I'll be there
I swear like the shadow that's by your side
I'll be there
For better or worse, till death do us part
I'll love you with every beat of my heart
And I swear
I'll give you every thing I can
I'll build your dreams with these two hands
We'll hang some memories on the wall
And when there's silver in your hair
Won't have to ask if I still care
'Cause as time turns the page,
My love won't age at all
And I swear by the moon and the stars in the sky
I'll be there
I swear like the shadow that's by your side
I'll be there
For better or worse, till death do us part
I'll love you with every beat of my heart
I swear
And I swear by the moon and the stars in the sky
I'll be there
I swear like the shadow that's by your side
I'll be there
For better or worse, till death do us part
I'll love you with every beat of my heart
I swear
Hope this helps for whatever you are looking for! It was a good time because it is the first time after the ceremony that you really have time to spend with each other that day. Because we didn't see each other before the ceremony and then after we were taking pictures then we rode to the reception with a friend. Then after the dance we greeted everybody. So, it was a pleasant converstation.

Garth Brooks "To make you feel my love"
If you prefer to have a woman sing, Trisha Yearwood sings it too.
That's the song I'm playing for mine. Look up the lyrics. It's sweet

Ben Harper "By My Side". Not your typical wedding song, but it means alot to us. That is really the most important thing in choosing a song
