If it's the same person, at one time not a saint, then later officially a saint, what's the difference?

In Catholicism a Saint (capital "s") is a person who lived and died in God's friendship. There are no living Saints (capital "s").

A lengthy process assesses the possibility that a person is in Heaven. If it is determined that that person achieved Heaven, then the Church canonizes him/her by affixing the title 'Saint' to their name.

Saints are never more important than God. Their life is exemplary and worthy of imitation which is the reason Catholics acknowledge and honor Saints.

Catholicism teaches that all God's children are basically good, are equally loved by God, but have been wounded by sin.

In terms of importance, every soul is equally important to God.

In terms of freely cooperating with God's grace, Saints are the ultimate achievers, and are the role models, after Jesus, and along with his mom, for every Christian, in every age, and in every place.

Anyone who is admitted to heaven is truly a Saint, whether or not the Church ever officially recognizes it, or declares it to be.

while it's the same person, it's what someone has done with their life. since Saints aregenerally humble people, this is not a "title" given during their lifetime. there are many "steps" in being declared a Saint in the CAtholic church -it's not easy and not someone one can just set out to "do". Saints are, IMO, a gift to us as a role model of how we can give our lives fully to Jesus. they are an example oh how in "this day in age" we can be good people, loving Christians and a true Child of Christ.

sure, the Baptist and different Bible Christians who're so ignorant and don't even look to renowned that the Church became around 1000's of years before they compiled the Bible, consistently will attempt to permit you comprehend which you're misinterpreting the Bible. they are misinterpreting the Bible. next time ask him how old his faith is, all he ought to declare is years, by way of fact it became not made by using Jesus. And if he says otherwise say we've a non-provide up line from Jesus to the cutting-edge pope. i could desire, although, which you may pray to Mary and the Saints extra. Mary is a lot extra desirable than Catholics comprehend. a million. She is the queen of Heaven and Earth (Revelations) 2. She is the mum of your religious existence (that's why protestants have not any peace they hate the female who can immediately help them) 3. She is the suited intercessor before God. 4. She is the mediatrix of all graces, so something God supplies to guy, any grace, funds, food etc., comes for the period of the palms of Mary. those are defined dogmas of the Catholic Church, yet very practically all Catholics ignore approximately them and that's the reason we've such issues.

In the Catholic religion yes they are. In God's eyes they are nothing but wretched sinners like the rest of us. Their best deeds are nothing but filthy rags before a righteous and holy God. Like the rest of us they are saved by the sovereign grace of God alone, no work can ever please our God. The only thing that allows any of us to stand before God is Jesus. His death paid the price in full for the sins of those who the father saves. None of us are any holier than than anyone else. On a holiness scale I might b a 5 and a 'saint' a 10 but to enter into heaven you need to be a 1,000,000,000,000 so even the"best" of us fall short.

Jesus said to them "I am the way, the truth and the life. NO ONE comes to the Father but through me"

A saint is simply this: a person in heaven.

The famous saints are simply those people whom we are confident about their being in heaven.

So in a word, no.
