Baptism signs a child for Christ. Jesus said, "Let the children come to me and do not hinder them."
If you are a Christian it is your Christian duty to have your child baptized. Some Christian denominations do not believe in infant baptism but they are wrong. Baptism puts a child/person/baby out of the reach of demonic influences (which is why demonic possession is not so common nowadays). A person who is baptized cannot be possessed unless he/she renounces the vows of his/her baptism.
Waiting for a child to reach the age of accountability is nonsense because by then the child will decided whether or not he/she wishes to be Christian or not. It is a parent's duty to baptize their child as soon as possible.

It's not a bad thing at all. I haven't had either of my children baptized, and I can't possibly see how that would be construed as a sin. They are still too young to grasp the finer points of religion (they're 5 and 7). Children have enough to deal with - growing, developing, learning about the world etc - without having to follow a whole other set of rules. I agree that children should be taught about religion in schools, it gives them a good basis for an eventual decision as to whether or not they want to be baptized, but I don't agree with shoving it into their lives from the day they're born.

You should not have a baby baptized. If you read the bible, it says that you must believe and confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus Christ, then be baptized. How can a baby believe and confess with it's mouth yet when the baby has not yet been told about Christ nor can the baby speak.
So when your baby grows up and invites Christ into his or her life then they can get baptized.
If you are interested in what I believe then go to a bible believing Baptist church.
Hope this help.

Nowhere in the Bible do you find people baptizing babies. Why? Because Christ commanded people to repent, and be baptized. Was he talking to innocent babies? Nope. You cannot force baptism upon a baby because it wasn't the baby's choice to be baptized, and God wants what is from the heart of the individual, not what is from someone else's heart. Someone else can't worship God for you. If you baptize a baby, none of the credit goes to the baby. Sinners need to repent and be baptized. Babies do not sin, they cannot repent, and cannot choose to be baptized. You might as well baptize your cat! It's not until we're at the age of accountability that we're to repent and be baptized. And anyway, let's say you baptize your infant, and then your infant grows up to hate God and follow Satan. How then did his baptism benefit him? It didn't, because it wasn't his choice.

In the Bible there is no teaching that babies should be baptized. If you do not believe that, just ask on YA for scripture to back it up and you will find there is not one recorded case in the Bible of a baby being baptized, nor one teaching that it should be done. That is Catholic teaching and spread into reform churches after the reformation. My suggestion would be to be faithful to the Bible which is what God asks us to do. According to Peter in the Bible, we have everything that we need for life and godliness and if it isn't there you don't need it.

Why on Earth would someone withhold God's grace from a child? If it is done wantonly, absolutely it is a sin! The worst kind!
"Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin,
it would be better for him if a great millstone
were put around his neck
and he were thrown into the sea." (from Mark 9)
"And people were bringing children to him that he might touch them, but the disciples rebuked them. When Jesus saw this he became indignant and said to them, "Let the children come to me; do not prevent them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these." (from Mark 10)
As to the silly argument that anabaptists and their descendants make - an argument unknown to Christianity's first 16 centuries, I'd point out that with Paul's jailer "and his entire household was baptized" (which with the compressed lifespan and increased fertility of that era, certainly included babies.)
(And at any rate, that whole argument is similar to saying, "well the bible never shows polynesians being baptized, so we can't baptize anyone from a pacific island!")

No, it is not a bad thing to not have your baby baptized. This is something done to make parents feel "safe". Many do this ritual and don't even educate the child religously.

I personally believe in the Baptism of the Believer, (Adult baptism).
I prefer that the person be old enough to actually make a decision for Christ and then have the Baptism publicly. Traditional Churches prefer infant baptism.
I Corinthians 13;8a, Love never fails!!!!!

Not at all. Babies and young children are too young to accept Christ as their Savior (the ONLY way to get saved...see Ephesians 2:8,9 and John 3:3) When one is old enough to accept Christ, they should get baptized (immersion) afterwards as a public proclamation of their faith in Christ, although in itself isn't nec. for salvation.

I do not believe in Baptizing Baby's. One is Baptized when one accepts Christ Jesus, it is the public confession of faith. You accomplish nothing in Baptizing your Baby, except getting him/her wet.
