You should give your OB/Gyn doctor a call before taking any meds during pregnancy!

I read that it is not a good idea to use any type of medication while pregnant.
Including Zantac. I finally told my doctor that i had terrible acid poblems when i ate and i was not putting the weight on as i should have because it hurt too much to eat and suffer after wards.
He did not like the idea i was reading so much on the subject of 'everything' to do of being pregnant but he did say to take two tumbs before i ate and two after i ate. If i had known of what to take then of what i know now of what i take....probably i would have felt better doing this......I now take baking soda in water. It doesn't have to be a lot of baking soda in water. It only takes just a very very small amount to work! Pizza, chocolate, milk, beans, coffee are the worst for me so i know i will be taking it before and after for these foods............

During pregnancy you can take a glass of cold milk or something like Digene (liquid), but nothing other than that! A tub of vanilla ice-cream can also do the trick.
No Gelusil or anta-acid. Please try and eat small meals frequently, have plenty of fruit juices etc, dont stay hungry.

EAT you some tums- full of calcium, don`t take anything that isn`t approved by doc. tums is-actually good for you & the baby.please check even this out- it`s been 8 yrs since i had a baby & things change. below me, at my childbirth class, they said to go easy on sodium-i just checked 1/8 of a teaspoon of baking soda has 150 mg- i don`t advice it because it may cause fluid retention.her doc told her to take 2 tums bere meals & 2 after.
