I am a very short girl. I have a normal sized butt. and absolutely no chest. Im barely an A. I would like a strapless dress but i could never hold one up. I also dont want a boring dress that everyone wears. I want to be unique. but apparently designers think that unique women have big boobs. I just wanted to know if anyone has been in this struggle and can offer some tips or places to look.

The most special thing about your wedding day is you! Don't wear something just because it is the popular fashion today. Don't let yourself be talked into suddenly having lots of padding in the upper areas so that your guests don't look at how pretty you are because they are distracted by your new chest. Nothing against filling out a little bit to look good in clothes, but on your wedding day you want to look like you - enhanced in a way that people say how wonderful you look, not notice that you are suddenly a "B" or "C" and filling up your dress.

Also, it is true that a tailor or seamstress can make you a dress that you like. There are wonderful seamstresses in every city and patterns and beautiful fabrics at every fabric store. You might find just the thing.

Best way to know what pattern to pick that will really flatter you is to go try on lots of different styles of dresses. Have you had other special occasion dresses that you liked. What style were they? Strapless dresses are "in" right now. It is hard to find a dress in a bridal magazine that is not strapless. My daughter is engaged and she has been looking too. Her problem is a little different, she is really too well endowed (DD) to wear a strapless dress, so she too has to find another style that works best for her.

Visit several salons. There are dresses with off the shoulder necklines which could show your pretty shoulders but not fall down! Seed pearls, crystals, trims of all sorts can cover up a multitude of things there or not there. Sometimes the back of the dress is the "fancy" side with trims and trains. Find the right bridal consultant for you. An experienced consultant in a salon can take one look at you and probably know right then a host of dresses that you could try on that would look great on you. All I can say is have a great time looking.
I produce bridal fairs. You can find one or more in your area of the country - no matter where you are. There are always fashion shows that show lots of great designs, and wedding professionals that can give you all kinds of advice. Look on the web under bridal fairs or shows. Tickets are inexpensive - take your bridesmaids and have a day of it.

I hope you find a lovely dress and have a lovely wedding day. Remember the wedding is special, but it's the marraige that is important.

Happy life to you!

I'm small chested myself, so I know your frustrations there lol
Davids Bridal is great...they told me that smaller chests are great for strapless dresses because the weight pulling down isn't there like it is with bigger chests. I tired on strapless dresses and didn't have a problem with them falling down. I didn't go with a strapless tho, I was to afraid I'd step on the hem of the dress and well u can imagine the rest I'm sure lol That was my own personal choise tho, even if the chest part of the dress is still a little bigger than you'd like, take it to a seamstress. Get recommondations and talk to them before giving them your dream dress of course. They will be able to give you a great fitting dress. It sure was alot cheaper than I thought it would be to have mine taken in.

With your body type, you shouldn't at all have a strapless dress. Of course, you don't have to have a boring dress, but you just have to get out there and try, try, try. I've seen some pics from others on here from David's - seem to be a big variety.

You might consider either making your own dress or trying to get one custom made. A dress that has small straps with a sheer lace cover with long sleeves would be nice- Long and flowing! I think it may look nice on you to have a dress that has a straight skirt-long with a sheer over lay! Look at different patterns and pictures! I hope that you find just the right dress! BEST WISHES!

Actually, you can wear a strapless dress! I thought I could never hold one up either, but honestly, it fit great! I got mine at David's Bridal and with the right undergarments, I felt like I could jump up and down with my arms in the air and it would go nowhere. A good fitting dress won't fall down. Go with the dress size that fits your waist and hips...a good seamstress can fix the rest.....Good luck!

Try David's Bridal. I bought mine there. Being asian with minimal boobs, i found mine in size 2. You might like to get it altered a little. Good luck finding! :)

By the way, congratulations! when is your wedding? Mine's in Dec.

Your best bet would probably be to find one that you like and have it altered to fit you right in all the right spots. You could do a search for tailors in your area and ask if they offer that type of service.
