Depends on your job.
Bare in mind though that there are other routes around and your employer will work on the basis that they pay you to get to where your suppossed to be going ( or your customer has invested the time to see you ) so if they have made it in they wont really care about your reason.
The implications could be you being fired which may sound harsh but depending on which side of the converstaion you are on is both unfair and fair.

Why don't you move to Scotland? The A1 dual carriageway between East Lothian and Edinburgh (the road I commute along) has beautiful views of the Firth of Forth and is so quiet, I'm almost always doing 75 in the inside lane. Even in rush hour.
Is this making you feel any better? hehe
