That verse shouldn't be taken so literal, in other words it is saying that god knows what will happen before it happens. it also refers to god knows that which goes on in your hearts and mind. He is all knowing all wise. you can't read the quran and take it so literal there is a bigger meaning behind the words" read between the lines". For those that are closed minded, you can't judge a whole religion by what you hear in the media. Not all muslims are bad and not all christians are good (recall the KKK).

**By the way Allah is just another word for God in arabic. According to the quran Allah is the same god that christians and jews worship. But it is Believed that Allah does not have children and is in no way related to humans. He does not beget nor is he begotten. He is the most Benificien the most merciful (so for all of you bashing Allah, you are bashing that which you believe in)

Allah is the wisest and he spreads his wisedom amongst humans, so technology is yet another sign of Allah's blessings
.
Interesting thing is that Quran talks about an incident where a man wanted to know how Allah can bring people from the dead and he died and was brought up after 100 years. This may prove the fact that cloning is very much possible, coz the Quran says that he was brought back from his remains! So today it might sound still science fiction but down the years it is possible just like only a few decades ago the sex of a baby in the mothers womb could not be established!

There are many signs of Allah in this world!

Peace out!

It's not just the sex of the baby but also :
Allah knows when the egg and the sperm combine to make a fetus in that exact time and if it's for one baby or twins or more (not weeks after it already happens).
Allah knows what that baby will grow up to be like.
Allah knows what DNA the baby has.
Allah knows when it will be out of the womb.
Allah knows when the "period" will begin and when it will be over, which is blood INSIDE the womb coming out AS WELL AS ANY OTHER HEMORRHAGE (women don't know exactly when it will start or end)
Allah knows if there is a tumor- Allah forbid- in the womb or any other diseases.

By the way in Koran that was sent more than 1400 years ago told us about the three darknesses in which that baby is inside in the mother's womb and now after more than 1400 years we came to know that those 3 darknesses are the abdomen, the womb and (that thing the baby gets it's nutrition from) i can't remember it's name in English now.

I am not a Muslim but I agree with that totally.

If you do some research, you'll realize no matter what bad things happen to the world, be it through war, murder, suicide, etc you will always have an almost perfect 50:50 male and female composition in the world population. Despite the Chinese in the past mass drowning their unwanted newborn daughter in favor of a son, many years later it's not that the gender composition will be like 60:40 (male:female). No, instead after so many wars here and there, killing both male and female, it seems the nature will balance things out in the end.

So I believe no matter what action we take, be it drowning newborn daughters or choosing whether to have a son or a daughter through advance medical technology, in the end the world population will still be almost a perfect 50:50 between male and female. So I believe God plays a very powerful part in balancing out everything. We just don't know it, thinking that scientific advancement is the best. No, our scientific advancement is still very new unmatchable to God's power.

I think this is the verse you are referring
"Surely Allah is He with Whom is the knowledge of the hour, and He sends down the rain and He knows what is in the wombs; and no one knows what he shall earn on the morrow; and no one knows in what land he shall die; surely Allah is Knowing, Aware. " Quran 31: 34.

There is no "only" when wombs are mentioned in this verse. Also, no one know exactly knows as Allah knows, even if "only" is assumed there

No where in the Qur'an does Allah says that only he knows the SEX of the unborn.

Prove it punk.

The original Arabic refers to the mystery of the womb, meaning to the nature and charachter of the child to be.

You've just been undone. SLAM DUNK!

why do you take "ALLAH who knows what is in the womb of the mother" as only the sex and health of the fetus?
he knows everything about that baby..how long he will live ..what kinda person he will be ...and much more questions science can't and won't answer.

The Qu'ran also tells Muslims to be-head non-believers and kill those who mock Islam - If this is the strength of the advice within this book then why the hell listen to anything else it has to say - it says that women need to cover up - totally - it says you can only eat meat if the creature it comes from is murdered in a bloodthirsty way. Come off it - what was the author on? Acid or what!

The Bible probably claims similar things. Also, this is RELIGION. That is why there is a line between religion and science. Learn it and stop picking on Islam when you could say the same or worse things about Christianity.
