The cake is a bad idea. Are you friends with her already? If so, you can ask her directly if she wants to go to homecoming. If not, you should first find out from one of her friends if she is going, or ask her if she has plans to go before offering to go with her.

Ahhh...remembering High school days. How well do you know this person?? Does this person even know who you are? If the person knows you just go to them and ask them if they have a date,if they dont ask them. There is a chance you'll get rejected, but theres also a chance this person may like you. You'll never know unless you ask. So my advice to you is to take a chance and ask. You can't get your heart broken if you never open the doors, but you'll never fall in love.
