Things are not so black and white; classifying "lying" as bad across the board suggests that you have a lot to learn.
Some lies may help you, and other lies may reveal a greater truth. It depends on why the lie was told and the intentions of the person telling the lie. That said, there are many situations in which lying leads to a greater amount of trouble as well. A lot of room exists between the "good" and "bad" you learned about in kindergarten; very few things fall into one without a bit of the other. It all depends on your point of view.
What do you think on the inside? Is this a guy who probably has your best interests in mind?

Some guys are. Sorry to be so out there. Most guys will tell you what you want to hear because they want to avoid confrontation. You ask them a question such as "is that woman prettier than me?" he will mostly likely respond "NO"! Another factor of whether or not he will lie to you is the situation....meaning how far along into a relationship or friendship are you??? If it's in your best interest he may not tell you the truth so he doesn't hurt your feelings. If that's the situation sit them down and let them know you just want them to honest with you. If they are just lying to get what they want you have two choices. 1. give it to them so they can be on their way. 2. kick their asses to the curb. my personal opinon is kick their asses to the curb, you'll gain more respect that way.

I'll be perfectly clear. WE ARE LIARS. All of the other people who said, "No, they're not" or "just some of them" are full of it. We lie. To get in your pants, to get a job -- hell, to get the unnecessary attention we crave from our friends.
I've cheated, lied on resumes, and make up fantastic stories -- just to see how far I can push it. And most of my male buddies... if not all of them, actually... have done the same at some point. It's an egoist ride, and it's true that we're looking out for number one.
So to the people that said "men don't lie", wake up. And to those of you who think that they do, kudos.
Now I have to bullshit a reason why I'm going to skip my political science class today so that I can take my midterm on Wednesday, thus guarenteeing me two extra days to study. Later.

Myself as a guy I have got passed that point in life, but I will say what I know about guys, what I have seen and heard, they will tell you whatever you want to hear as long as you dont start an arguement, and keep them awake half the night, but yes they will candy coat, bend, twist and stretch the truth anyway they have to to tell you what you want to hear, But on the other hand I have been lied to by many females in the past as well, and I have been pretty gun shy the last bunch of years,

Some women are pretty good liars too but not all of us do it so I think it's the same with men. There are some really good guys out there. It just seems impossible to find them at times.

I won't lie I will tell a girl when I want another relation ship, I will tell them the whole truth and nothing but, I would love her how ever and tell her she is like the sun, she brightens up my world, the losers you date are bad boys which every troubled girl seems to like going out with.
