Turn on switch 1, leave it for a minute, turn it off. Turn on switch 2, leave it on. Don't touch switch 3.

Switch 1 is the off bulb that is hot, switch 2 is the on bulb, switch 3 is the off cold bulb.

Careful with your fingers.

Turn 1 on, leave for 5 minutes, turn off, then switch on another.

Go to basement, the one that's on is obviously the one you've left on, the one that's warm is the other.

you flip one on for a while, then turn it off. then turn another one on and go to the room. you obviously know which switch goes to the light that is on, and the lightbulb you turned on and off will be warm.
