I am serious about this question because according to most Christians all one needs to do is to believe in Jesus to go to heaven. What if in the future our robotics technology could create androids that have free will, intelligence, emotions, love, hope and everything that makes us human? Will it go to heaven when it dies or will it cease to exist?

Please give respectable answers please. I am not trying to offend anyone.

Remember these androids also fear death and live life doing their best to go to heaven.

If they die and cease to exist than their lives would of have pointless.

Don't say they're just machines because that will make humans arrogant.

How do we know if humans have souls, these androids feel, fear and have emotions and ambitions? They love Jesus with all their hearts. If they die and cease to exist wouldn't that be unfair for them.

Maybe there's an artificial heaven waiting for them ;)

Anyways, iti doesn't matter how smart your android is and how much it isi programmed to be christian. The android will never have a soul. It will just be a combination of programmed logical thinking created by men.

Here is a thought, Romans 8:22,
"For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now."

Notice that Paul isn't talking about human beings only. Man is only a speck in the whole creation. And this whole creation that he is talking about includes angels, mankind, animals, and even inanimate objects! Here is where your android comes in, dude. Romans 8:21,
"Because the creature itself also SHALL BE DELIVERED FROM THE BONDAGE OF CORRUPTION INTO THE GLORIOUS LIBERTY OF THE CHILDREN OF GOD."

You see, if you read the whole of Romans Chapter 8, the whole creation was subjected to vanity. They have been used by the wicked instead of being used for the glory of God.

The deliverance of this inanimate world (including your android) is this: Romans 8:28,
"And we know that all things work together for the good to them that love God, to them who are called according to His purpose."

If they will be used for the glory of God and for His Church, they are considered delivered from vanity. Nothing more. They cannot go to heaven. But I'm sure they will be remebered there for aiding in the salvation of others.

yah know, humans are humans and androids are androids. those who shall dwell in heaven are souls of humans. are you saying androids have souls too? if so, who made these androids? humans, right? thereby, if humans created these androids, it follows humans instilled souls too? now where on earth did a human manage a thing? if he can create a soul, it only follows he's a god too. and if he's a god, thereby, he is capable of going to heaven without jesus aid. so you see, a farce of a question you have raise... humans are not gods and therefore, androids do not have souls. so how the hell could they go to heaven???

Nope it wouldn't go to heaven. My cat is intelligent enough not to fall off the bed but she won't go to heaven since she has no soul. Why should a android that doesn't have a soul get to go to heaven if my cat can't?

Well, "artificial" is the key idea here. If it was created by man, then it isn't really alive. Heaven is part of the spiritual world. Robots are entirely physical.

Cool question.

No, they need an android Messiah because Jesus only died for humans apparently.

No. Androids can be made to be exactly like humans except for one thing, they won't have souls.

Dont ask christians, they don't know what a soul is. We will be able, someday, to manipulate and mass produce soul, we are almost destined to! Curiosity has no limits

No, dude.

One that God created needs to believe in Jesus in order to go to heaven. One that man created is just that--a manmade creation, no matter how lifelike.
