Did you ever see the Simpsons Treehouse of Terror episode where a magic monkey paw grants Lisa's wish for world peace? The enitre globe turned in their weapons and united in peace. At that point, space aliens landed and took over the world with sling shots and clubs.
My point is not to suggest that we should be afraid of an alien invasion if we give in to peace. My point is that without if we all decided not to fight, then the soldier that decides to fight will win in the end.
Peace does not prevail because it is not the norm. Natural Selection is by definition Competition. There will always be winners and loosers. We as a society define what is ethical and acceptable in this competition and the only way to enforce is through force.
Bad people exist. There are humans that do not value life. That is the way it is and a total peace is a hippy naive idealism that just isn't going to work.

It doesn't matter what happens in this world, Peace does not work like that. The world is huge with millions of problems every day, and it's the people that cause all those things, believe it or not. When ppl are negative they send a negative force to the world and it causes these things. For example volcanos? How do they erupt? They erupt when ppl are so negative about the world. Like when ppl say: Oh my Gosh there's a war in Lebanon, it's gonna get worse! Then it will....and look what keeps happening! I hope I helped!

What an interesting concept!
Sounds ridiculous at first, but it would make a hell of a statement and wipe out the authority of the leaders who start the wars among themselves.
Yes, if every soldier in every nation refused to fight, the leaders would have no troops to count on, the war would not go on, and the leaders would perhaps be forced to do what they should have at first: TALK, and give in where they have to.
Gee, thanks for such a nice thought and dream on a Monday morning...It was a beautiful instant to imagine a demonstration on that scale!

Whilst countries keep building up and maintaining defence forces and weapons of death, this planet can never be at peace.....sadly. Its not just the soldiers who fight, it is also the people behind the scenes who push the buttons......
