they have a special tough coating that is impervious to simple soap, and they would not choke or drown because they don't breathe in the same way as mammals, that is why we need special poisons to kill then.

Because i think you wash out the lice but the eggs which are stuck onto the hair, hang in there until they hatch out which will be sometime after the hair is dry. I know people who have had a whole head bleach and the b***ers still come back. The only sure way is with a chemical formula. You can buy some that are less harmful than the old methods so ask your chemist to recommend. You need to do combs, brushes, and bedding too. Good luck.

Theyr'e tough little critters! They become immune to the chemicals preparations we use. To get rid of them once and for all, put lots of conditioner in hair, leave for about 20 minutes, then comb out with a nit comb. Repeat every week till you know for sure theyr'e gone.

it's like a day at the spa for them, or going to the water park, or a nice long bubble bath. would any of these things bother you ? that is why we have special chemical treatments that invite them to the party and then poison them while we laugh at them, and then comb them out of our lives.
