If we look at the whole balance of the universe ying yang surley being small should have its advantages like cheap airfares for example. It just seems that your paying for halling your weight across the sky, isn't that why infants travel free and you pay more for excess luggage? But on the same note should the extra large people have to pay for there excess luggage? Maybee we should all be weighed indivually when it comes to determining the price we each pay.

If they're occupying the seat, then yes. They would be using up a seat that the airline would normally charge for.
Infants only travel free if they travel on their parent's lap. Parents can purchase a seat for their infant, and can then use it for a car seat or for the extra room. On most airlines, kids 2 and over have to pay the full price, and get their own seat. I think a 2-year old is smaller than a "little person" in any case.
I've always wondered about extra large people, though. If they're forced to pay for two seats, do they then get a double meal? Two sets of headphones? Two heated face-towels? It's only fair!

You don't pay by weight, you pay by seat.

Infants can be free IF they sit on the parent's lap in the parent's seat. Otherwise, you buy their seat as well (although most airlines will let you have a seat so you can relax if the flight is not full & you have a restraint).

Some airlines, like Southwest, do require heavy passengers to pay more - because they take up two seats and someone else shouldn't have to pay for a seat that is half covered in fat sweaty guy. Again, if the flight is not full, they don't have to pay for a second seat.

So many pounds of luggage are allotted to each seat and the cost of hauling it incorporated into the seat pricing structure, so extra baggage weight increases the ticket cost.

If more than one little person uses the same seat, they definitely should pay less. The probolem is though they might be MUCH smaller than me, they still use a full seat.

I personally do not think infants should travel free. Most parents cannot control them properly and you end up with the kid pulling the hair of the person in front of him/messing ext. I believe infants should be made to pay full fare and then be given their OWN seat.

You pay to occupy the seat; price is not determined by weight. A baby flies free because the baby stays in the mother's lap and doesn't occupy a seat.

If you were to go by weight, heavy people would have to pay more, and this wouldn't be fair.

Your point is interesting but little people should pay the same as any other adult, they want to be treated the same as anyone else.Just because they are little, they are still adults.I don't think it would be fair that someone should have to pay extra just because of their weight. Plus-sized people get enough of that discrimination by having to pay extra on clothes. As far as infants not having to pay anything, acourse they wouldn't have to pay anything because they are not able to board the planes by themselves.

Charging by the pound is only good when buying beef. A seat is a seat is a seat...unless you are suggesting we allow "little people" to travel in the overhead compartment.
