is there any possibility of the USA becoming an Islamic state in near future?

though some Islamic fundamentalists are propagating that the USA would become an Islamic state because Islam is the fast growing religion in the world., i don't believe their words. i feel the USA will not become an Islamic state as the most of the Americans are lovers of freedom and democracy which are not found in a theocratic society.

Always a possibility. But probability is highly unlikely because:
1. The USA is a melting pot of different races, cultures, and creeds. Hence, no moral, social or legal need for a state religion, be it Islam or any other denomination.
2. Americans continue to be religiously dominated by Protestants and Catholics. The Moslems remain an increasingly important minority group.
3. Almost all officials of the Federal and State governments belong to Christian groups (Protestants, Catholics, etc.).
4. No massive Islamic indocrination can be felt or seen.
5. No major Islamic school in North America, unlike the Christians (Catholic Univ. of America, Georgetown Univ., Loyola Univ. of Chicago etc.).
6. Islam lacks prominent celebrity figures to identify themselves with it and act as Islamic spokespersons.

This will NEVER happen because we at the U.S. LOVE our freedom and will not stand for having a Islamic state. we want separation of church and state!!!! And there is no way this will ever happen. Many of us will fight for our rights to keep the US the way it is. If there is ever the possibility of a Muslim state the American people will fight and it will become a second revolutionary war!

I sincerely doubt that American culture would be able to take the shock of Islamic culture. The two very different types of living would clash, and would not create for a very comfortable environment for either type of people to live in.
