I am a canadian citizen but i am currently on welfare for myself and 2 children i get my rent paid at the moment aswell. i was just wondering would i be entitled to anything if i moved to Canada, my 2 children are not Canadian citizens of as yet. I am planning on going to college/work as soon as my youngest is old enough, my eldest is in school at the moment, can anyone help me out, thankyou.

If you are a Canadian citizen you are entitled to Welfare benefits in Canada. It doesn't really matter the nationality of your children as long as you have I.D. for them. The application procedure and benefits are different depending on which province you choose to reside

Oh, so the UK has welfare too...

Maybe you should have went to college first then had the two kids. Maybe then you wouldn't be on welfare.

you can claim welfare but i guess its better for you to stay in the uk where your kids will get free school and universtiy and when they grow up then go to canada.
