Um, why don't you get a job. As a UK and Canadian tax payer it disgusts me that you are thinking that wherever you go you should get money for free. How the heck do you propose to get airfare for you and your kids ? Crisis loan perhaps.

Come here by all means, no rent benefit, no child tax credit and about $500 a month. You would get your butt out of your house quick enough and work then.

You will have a big surprise if you come here. Welfare is not given as freely as it is in the UK. If you are able to work, you will NOT get welfare, period. And if you do, because you are disabled or other good reason beyond your control, you will get a minimum amount that will not even pay your rent !
Canadian welfare rules have changed and it is very hard and sometimes impossible to get on welfare now, and most of all, stay on it. You will be required to actively look for a job, and after your time runs out, they will cut you off anyway, regardless if you have income or not !
Why don't you go to college or find work in the UK ? it won't be any easier here.
Good luck!

I don't think you should move to Canada until you are in a better position to provide for your kids......Depending on where in CAnada....but Toronto is pretty expensive. I don't think you should put your kids out like that....If it's just you by yourself...that's fine.....but you can't do that to your kids....
