im writing an italian paper on dante, and i need to know what "lust" is otherwise known as!

we say "peccati della carne". the word "carne" it's used in some ways to identify a body and so a human being.
"lust" can be translated as "lussuria" (luxury), "sensualità" (sensuality), "brama" or "avidità" if you mean "lust of power" or "to lust for riches".
