Hey Chelsea
It's a long involved process check out http://www.cic.gc.ca sadly the website is not user friendly however you can find the info you need. From experience I'd say you need to have skills that are in need and cannot be found locally in the Province in which you chose to live. Then the potential employer has to apply for market opinion through HRSDC, this can take up to 3 months. Once you ge that then you have to apply for a work permit from CIC & that can take anything from 1 to 6 months for a response. Thereafter if you have a 1 year work permit you may be able to apply for landed immigrant status under the Skilled worker programme. Getting that can take up to 3 years. Good Luck!

The application form tells you exactly what needs to be submitted at that time. Remember this is a process and so there are specific requirements at specific times.

I first application requires you to prove who you are, with a copy of your passport etc. It also requires basic information about your education and other skills. etc. Later they will ask for a medical check, maybe language skills and financial information.

SO my advise, follow what is required in the form.
