The heretical Christian who convinced Muhammad he was a prophet – and may have taught him his erroneous views of Christianity

The first year of the Muslim calendar: not when Muhammad was born or became a prophet, but when he became a warlord
How Muhammad used the graphic lure of Islamic Paradise to urge his warriors to fight furiously to extend his rule
"Kill every Jew who comes into your power": why Muhammad became so angry with both Jews and Christians – with disastrous consequences that are still playing out in the world today
The momentous command by Muhammad that led to good being identified with anything that benefited the Muslims, and evil with anything that harmed them --without reference to any larger moral standard
Muhammad's child bride – and the terrible consequences his marriage to a nine-year-old still has in the Islamic world
"This is the caravan of the Quraysh possessing wealth. It is likely that Allah may give it to you as booty": how Muhammad gave divine sanction to the Muslims' bloody raids
"War is deceit": the permission Muhammad gave his followers to lie in order to gain an advantage over their enemies
How Muhammad broke the principal treaty he entered into, again setting a pattern for Muslim states thereafter
Muhammad's commands to his followers to wage perpetual war against non-Muslims, including Jews and Christians
Muhammad on women's rights: women "are prisoners with you having no control of their persons"
"If justice is not to be found with me then where will you find it?" Why Muhammad still stands for Muslims as the supreme model for human behavior
"I will expel the Jews and Christians from the Arabian Peninsula, and will not leave any but Muslims" – and other statements by Muhammad that contemporary jihadists take very seriously
Islamic tolerance? The onerous tax burden and other discriminatory regulations mandated for non-Muslims under Islamic law
How Muhammad ordered the killing of apostates from Islam
The massacre of a Jewish tribe by Muhammad that was invoked by modern-day jihadists at the beginning of Israel's July 2006 operations against Hizballah in Lebanon
"Embrace Islam, and your lives and property will be safe": Muhammad's threatening letters to the rulers of the lands around Arabia
Muhammad's frequent avowals that the Muslims would overcome the empires bordering on Arabia and one day stand as masters of the world

I am a Muslim woman...not so lucky to be treated like a queen but certainly treated like a human being with rights and duties.
No one ever beat me or abused me in any other way. And I was treated like a princess at my parents' home.
And I definitely don't need people from different nations and different beliefs to claim my right or defend me because I have a mind and a mouth and if I feel I'm being treated unfairly, I can stand up for myself.

I am reading on that now, and you are right. it is not the religion of Islam that treats women badly....but please understand that we in the West hear things about the Middle East that are not allowed to happen here in the US....women are not punished by violence or death for infidelity. While infidelity is a sin in christianity, it is not against the Law here. The US practices separation of Church and State...we do not prosecute based on religious beliefs, but on written law. There is where the difference lies. In the Middle East, the laws are based on the religious rules set forth in the Qu'ran. It is not the same here. ALL religious teachings are irrelevant in terms of of law. This difference, in my opinion, is what has caused much of the erroneous information being spread about Islam. I personally accept the holy status of Jesus (pbuh) and Mohammad (pbuh) equally. And, having read the Bible and the Qu'ran, see very little difference in their teachings.

No muslims treat their women better than other religion followers because :
1) women as wives are the assistants of their husbands in each family
2)their children should pray to Allah that their mothers and fathers should be forgived by Allah
3)women should wear veils for their security,so they are protected by Allah by wearing those clothes
4)women mothers who ask for help by her children should be first served if at same time their fathers call them too
5)men should pay a mahar (give money and other valuable things) if women are asked to marry them
6)husband men as family head should eke out income for maintaining their families and their wives should spend it bwisely.
7)heaven is on the feet sole of mother
8)women slavery should be abolished by freeng them with or without paying
9)husbands should should be an imam or a leader in praying
and their wives and children as its followers or ma'mum
10)women should be treated tenderly due its creation from the man's shoulder blade.

Salaam.
I'm a Muslim convert and I'm very happily married. I have never spoken ill of my wife and neither have I beaten my wife in any way, shape of form.
Anybody who claims true Muslim men beat their wives should take a very good look at the Christians first because there are Christians who go to Church but afterwards are drunkards, wife beaters, child molesters, rapists, homosexuals and all other kinds of things which are not supposed to be "Christian".
Christians can claim and profess that those are not real "Christians" but the fact still remains that if you look at their dossier or birth certificate, you'll see...Roman Catholic Christian, Baptist Christian, Protestant Christian, Presbyterian Christian, etc.
Now, any Christian who can refute that claim?
Case closed.

I think that alot of footage shown on tv has a lot to do with that, seeing women in countries such as Afganistan treated as second class citizens, needing their husbands permission to do anything or even speak.Abuse of women comes from all religions and cultures and i think that the time will come when women will be treated as equals and have more freedom.

Assalamoalakum,
They believe that because they've been sold a lie that muslim men are violent. They aren't. My husband's never laid a hand on me or cursed at me, and we've been married for 11 years.

women are treated worse in the west especially the US.
they get shot, stabbed or even beaten to death.
there's definitely more abuse of women over here than in Islamic countries. statistics prove it.

People are ignorant. When people talk about "religious extremism" they never talk about people that bomb abortion clinics in the name of Christianity or the fact that some schizophrenics claim that "God" (not Allah) told them to do it.
It's to do with selective memory.

yeah but they are not allowed to think and they are not allowed to talk or do what they want to do. I can do what i want to do. WE compermise and talk with each other. I have a wonder life and my husband treats me very well. WE DO NOT TELL EACH OTHER what to do or what to wear. we repect each other.
but if you mother is happy with the way she lives then fine whatever that is great for her but she should have a choice what she would like to do with her life and still be with her family. THe only thing i do not like about islam is the husband is allowed to hit the women THAT is not right they are adults. PEOPLE WHO ARE TRUELY SAVED BY JESUS DO NOT HARM OTHERS ON PURPOSE.
