There is a leather dye but since your couch is black you won't be able to dye it any other color except maybe navy blue. You can spray paint vinyl but not leather. If you can sew you could reupholster the couch!

I worked with leather, tooling, making items, coloring and so forth for about 30 years as a serious hobby.
Honestly I think you are toast. If the sofa was white or tan and you wanted to go to black I think the potential is good but going lighter is a real hard problem to solve.
Tell you what, try Tandy Leather. They have brick and mortar stores as well as web site. If you can get a knowledgeable person there I would accept that as the last word.
Good luck, I hope you can find a new product that makes me look foolish.

There are some very good restoration products on the market these days. A few years ago we would have said you could not go from black to another colour but with these new products you can as coverage is so good, however it is a job for a specialist restoration expert as the job has to be done in a certain way otherwise it will not work.
Do not be tempted by DIY products on the internet as most will ruin your suite.
Restoration is not cheap and will probably cost about £800 - £1000 so you may feel it is not worth it.

Sell it and with the money get a new one that matches. I know a lot of people that want black leather couches, as long as it's real..

definitely no longer. you may, notwithstanding, have a expert stain the leather-based a darker colour, or have it recovered. I won't misinform you, the two a sort of strategies are costly. in case you have the skill to return the settee and substitute it, gain this. If no longer, maybe you need to sell it, then use the money to purchase what you like. portray is thoroughly out of the question... it is going to wreck the settee.

Since it's black, you aren't going to be able to dye it. Since it's leather, you aren't going to be able to paint it. About the best you can hope for is to find a slip cover that is the color/design that you want. Sorry.
