Your question is an example of benevolent sexism, in which cultures treat women as holy AS LONG as they conform to being treated as second class citizens like in Saudi Arabia where they can neither drive nor sit in the front car seat. Oh yea, I suppose only holy women seat in the back of the car. Or how about that poor new reporter who got seriously beaten up by her husband, that news was in the news.
Or how about treating women so holy that honor killers are treated as heroes for killing their Daughter's and sisters!
I prefer the west where a woman can freely choose to be treated as a doll, where she doesn't;t have to go out without a male or permission from a man! I can go on and on

How about this comparison: The east which treats her like a crefully guarded pet that might run away any minute, or the west which (ideally) treats her like a human being with the same rights and personal power over their life as everyone else.

Somehow you have this bizarre idea that forcing your women into marriages they might not want, beating them if they got too curious about the outside world, and keeping them from colleges and higher education is "honoring" them.

Im not so sure you could say that the entire east treats women as holy. In China, the radical population control leads to large amounts of murders of female babies because parents do not want one of there two allowed children to be female. Males hold great power in Chinese society so there are many families that will not raise a female child.
I believe that it is a tradition of the shamanistic cultures of places like Laos and Vietnam that a man who is interested in marrying a woman must kidnap her away from her family. She is then forced to elope with him and live with his family for the rest of her life.
Women in India (Hindu culture more specifically) are seen as a lesser form of reincarnation than a male. Wives are generally forced to live with the family of the male. If the male dies, the female is required to stay with the man's family and work for them. Not so much these days, but in the past, when a Hindu woman's husband died she was supposed to throw herself upon the funeral pyre as a final act of devotion to her spouse.
I believe that dowries are also a very common practice in many different areas and cultures throughout the east. If a woman is sterile or her father has nothing to offer a potential husband and his family, she will be forced to work, or sometimes (especially the recent past) even killed.

Now, obviously, women are treated unfairly throughout the world. I am not saying that they are treated any better or any worse in the east or the west. The point I am trying to make is that women have been and continue to be(hopefully to a lesser extent these days) treated unfairly throughout the world over. To say that they are treated badly in the west and "holy" in the east is just way off. Its a world problem.

First off, the east doesn't treat them as a holy thing. You need to get your facts right. They treat them like they are sub-human; they have no freedom to do what they want when they want. They cannot even step outside their house for a breath of fresh air without a male escort and being covered from head to foot. I wouldn't even call that being treated like a human.

The west doesn't treat women like dolls. They are equals to men, and have to fight to get ahead just like everyone else. I can go anywhere I want by myself. I don't need an escort. Screw the east.

Holy thing? how can you even consider that you treat women as holy, when you sell them, deny them rights, beat them for disobeying men, make them wear concealing garments because you think they will be looked at, stone them because some man raped them, deny them good medical treatment, and refuse them a good education. And women in the west aren't treated as dolls. we are considered equal to men, and get respect and have rights. We are more than just sex objects and house slaves, unlike eastern women

How about NEITHER.

Try treating EVERYONE with respect, not putting them in some special class and expecting them to be second class cititzens.

YOU try being a holy THING. WOMEN ARE NOT THINGS.

Untill EVERYONE is treated with respect NO ONE will be truly free.

East which marries her at the age of 6 and consumate at the age of 9, or West which makes you wait until 18, 16 with parental consent.

I don't make the rules, I just quote them and Eastern people definately tell me it's true about 10 and 12 year old girls to this day. That don't happen in the West.
