You really should talk to his pediatrician. I know that during these younger years, it's not uncommon for kids weight to fluctuate; they get pudgy then grown taller, and then do it again. However, to from size 5-6 to 8-10 within 2 months doesn't sound healthy. You may need to change his diet and get him exercising more. Do it with him. Play at a park, in the back or front yard... just set good examples of nutrition and a healthy lifestyle.

Is he also getting taller? If not I would definitely contact a doctor or least check the symptoms on line at Web MD. It could mean alot of different things like diabetes or thyroid problems. There is a section on Web Md that you can "ask the experts". A doctor responds to your question. However, if you have insurance, you should take him in to see the pediatrician.

I would ask your doctor to be for sure. But personally my son went thru the same thing. He got lazy for a while and ate me out of house and home. I had to get him involved in some sprots and hide the junk food from him. Now hes doing better but boys do go thru growth spurts and they eat more because they are lacking nutruients that their body needs for that growth. Thats why he keeps eating because he keeps strving for that nutrient and hes not finding it so he eats more. Make sure you cook for your kid some healthy meals.

You're son is gowing through a growth spurt. No need to worry Mom. My son is 10 and eats everything that's not nailed down. He's very active. I think I might I have to get a second job just to feed him.

That much weight change in such a short time does not sound normal. I would talk to your ex. One of you should make an appt. just to be on the safe side. he may have just hit a growth spurt, but it could also be an indicator of something else.

It is a concern if he is eating poorly at his dad's house, however, if you feel concerned, it is best to seek the advice of a pediatrician. My husband and I have 4 kids and they take growth spurts but your child's seems excessive. Especially if he's tired all the time, I would recommend seeing his doctor.

Kids do go through growth spurts, but this sounds extreme. There could be something hormonal going on. It would be best to take your son to a pediatrician.

this is not right. You need to talk to his father if he is the primary carer. Express your concerns. Maybe a trip to the doctor would also be a good idea to get him checked out

Well the fatigue is probably from the overeating. I feel like that when I eat fast food alot. Check for diabetes just in case.
