Im not leaning towards a certain religion and Im not saying I do not have faith. I just know of some people who find it hard to believe in something you cant see or prove.

Not sad at all. Some religions have a great moral philosophy and a very positive outlook thanks to their guiding myth. That doesn't mean they always follow through but at least the ideas are out there. If it takes a little fantasy to motivate them, what's the harm, as long as the myth doesn't overwhelm them? Hey, believing in justice, equality and opportunity for all in this crazy old world requires a little "blind faith" too.

I have no problem with people having faith that there exists a higher power of some kind. I just think it is sad that so many people deny what science has learned in the last 100 years because it conflicts with what people believed 2500 years ago.

That is a very general comment for a very complicated term. Religion embraces a whole world full of beliefs and some of those beliefs are very personal. Some, form their beliefs on a very spiritual natural love. Some people are more textual inn their beliefs so much so that their #religious leaders' feel the need to rewrite holy texts to bend towards their beliefs.

My point is religion is a multi-faceted definition and we need to start listening to each other and trying to understand and learn from one another. There is no reason why certain moral codes of right and wrong shouldn't transcend all religious boundaries. However this harmony will never even start if we can not start listening to one another.

Honestly, no. I think you're probably asking the question more out of an anger of religion, but I'll give you a thorough response for the heck of it. It is the faith that we are tested with....that's how I see it at least. I view it as frustrating at times but not sad. It's frustrating but I often feel the overall effect of the faith in my life, which is good....I couldn't live without it.

YES i strongly think its sad that people die for something they can only have "blind faith" in. i mean come on if thats all it can be then its not there. religion was made to control us an make earth a better place to live.... if humans were all atheists what do u think the world would be like? ok when u realize what it would be like thats why the bible was writen.

Belief in Christ is based upon a relationship with Christ....not blind faith. He has given sight to those who before were blind. As Jesus said, "Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe on the evidence of the miracles themselves."

faith is not blind for faith without action is useless. This is more than faith, this is more than some guy or girl telling you Jesus loves you. This is the living God who talks with you, leads you, and chastises you. Blind is not those who believe but those who do not believe are blind. Besides, every body knows this, do not knock it till you try it, and not meaning a lip service, I mean a full hearted relationship with the Lord our God Jesus Christ.

Spirituality gives people hope. We have a strong urge to understand the univers that we live in. So we come up with Gods and deities to fill the voids and explain the mysteries. It is not sad to have faith in something. It is sad to have faith in nothing!

It's not based solely on blind faith, it's based on faith in the soul.

Maybe you should learn something about religion before making such simplistic statements.

If you have a specific thought say it, but condoning all religions is just amazingly ignorant.
