That's the fun thing about religion! Each person decides for themselves whether they are 'saved' or not!!!
A great hilarious take on this is in the movie "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" when Delbert assumes being 'saved' will stop the sheriff from chasing him. It is so funny!

Thus the point of religion. When Jesus gave men the right to forgive sins. I go to the confessional before God and the priest, my confession is heard. I ask God for forgiveness, and the priest gives me penance and grants me absolution. That's how I know I'm forgiven, then I go do penance. Eventually the weight (guilt) goes away. I continue praying and doing penance. Living a christian life, until I end up back in confession. Seems kind of pointless sometimes, but that's just part of the struggle.
The first time I prayed to Jesus Christ I didn't do it in a church. I had finally been broken down (as my will was/is not one I allow to be broken easily) after....what can only be described as the beginning stages of hell, I prayed to the Lord by myself. I meant it. I was ready. Then, I felt good for a long time. Eventually God let go, and started me learning to walk on my own.
Dryness is part of faith. We will all experience that in life. When you recognize that....one it is impossible without God....two that this life is full of suffering....and three that you must pray always... then you will start to feel better. I try to pray every hour. Because I can't make it but a few days, at most a week, without having to go to confession. I just ask for an hour at a time. Yet I still fail. I can only be happy that I am slowly getting better.

Faith. There's more than that for the human side of us. When you have hurt someone else, telling them you are sorry and want to make amends and hearing them forgive you helps.
Psychologically, this is actually a good part of the Catholic sacrament of reconciliation. Forgiveness comes from God alone - yes, even Catholics believe that - the priest is given the authority to "give voice to" that forgiveness. I really wish this was a sacrament that could be given by others than just priests cuz sometimes you need to hear the word "you are forgiven" from someone who has been in your shoes. For some people, knowing they are forgiven isn't enough - they need to hear the words.

Cause a Baptist priest told me so. Furthermore I'm saved and that is a guarantee. I can still sin and get into heaven.
In other words, not only was I forgiven for past sins, but also for future ones. This makes my life a lot easier, and gives me peace of mind.
You, on the other hand, sound like a doubter. You need to get saved at the altar of a Baptist priest.

That is a very difficult question to answer, but the answer is very simple. Faith. Faith is a tough thing to hold onto sometimes. The Bible says many times that Christ came so that we could be forgiven. Christ was raised from th dead as a perfect sacrifice for the sins of all mankind, even you and me. If we accept Christ, and we ask for his forgveness with humility and an honest desire to tunrn away from those things which lead us to evil, we are forgiven.

Because 1 John 1:9 says that if we confess our sin and repent of it, God is faithful to forgive us and to purify us from all unrighteousness. Take God's word for it. Anytime we doubt that we have been forgiven, go back to this verse.

it is different for different people, however it is not being repentant that causes one to be forgiven that is if we are talking God here. If we are talking people then I forgive you now. Answer any questions of mine you like. I prefer if you need to be rude that I get a laugh out of it.

If you have truly repented and turned away from your sins, on the basis of Jesus' sacrifice of his life for our sins you can be confident that your sins are in fact forgiven. Ofcourse if you do not turn away from sinning, then you have not truly repented, and will not receive forgiveness but by turning around and away from sinning you are demonstrating your true repentance to God, who then will forgive you in fact, he is very willing to forgive otherwise he would not have sent his only begotten Son Jesus Christ to die for your sins and mine! that would have been a pointlless exercisein that case, and a waste of his life, No God is very eager to forgive. Jesus' perfect life was given to obtain mankind's release to bondage to sin and death(1Peter1:18,19 ;Ephesians1:7)When Adam became a sinner, he passed sin and death on to his children, including all humans now living.(Job14:4 ; Romans5:12)
As imperfect humans, we have many faults. We can never pay back to God the huge debt we have accumulated because of transgressing against him. All we can do is seek his forgiveness. And Jehovah God is ready to forgive all our failings, provided we forgive our brothers for sins they have committed against us. What a forceful lesson that is! Jesus taught his followers to pray: “Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.”—Matthew
