There are a lot of people who are incarcerated for stupid mistakes. If they are locked up, then they are paying their debts to society. If its someone who hasn't made a career of crime and going in and out of jail, I'd say write. Who knows, you might be the voice of reason and help in their rehabilitation. Just be careful of phone calls. They can be quite expensive depending on the state you live in. Correctional Billing has a make on most prisons and they charge you through the nose. Nothing wrong with being a penpal, who knows, you might even find that you get as much as you give. There are a lot of great minds behind bars.

A nightmare, first its all good then things end up being like can you send me $$ then can you do this for me next thing you know you have a 4000 phone bill and a pile of bullshit letters.And your never the only one remember that!Pen-pal or gf

properly, i haven't any superb now, i'm somewhat too previous for that now :P yet whilst i become your age (gosh, that sounds terrible!!!) I used to have many pen friends and it become actual relaxing. I nevertheless have a super container crammed with those letters, enjoying cards and %. I have been given. it quite is how i all started gathering stamps via the way. Ah, weren't it for my pen friends who saved me as much as date with the worldwide outdoors i could have long previous nuts throughout the conflict in my us of a LOL. We have been under siege at that factor and ought to basically sneak in an occasional letter or 2. It meant worldwide to me!

why would you? they have nothing to offer you. what, they can get you a little canteen? a pack of cigs? come one now. these people have just proven that they are not willing to be law abiding citizens and are not productive members of society. why would you get involved in that? there are many other places and organizations that you can have pen pals through. your question already tells me a lot about your expectations and values in life.

I used to have a couple of friends one imperticular. It was alright, you just have to make sure not to let it look suspicious because they open it. Not like I would ever do that, but you just keep it cool ask them what they do to keep themselves busy and let the time pass. The more time they spend reading the better make it long and nice.

why would you want to? find someone that doesnt have a criminal record..it would be a lot safer
