Just make sure they are not blocked, and leave yahoo on all the time, and eventually they will say hi, and then capture it that way.

Your messenger has a feature which logs past conversations. If this is activated, you may be able to find it there (this computer does not have messenger so I can't say specifically where to locate this feature but its on one of the drop-down lists) or go to the Yahoo home page and go to "members" if you can remember part of the contact name, you can search for it there. For example if you know the person called themselves "something " wolf you can search by *wolf*. You may have to scroll thru many user names but that is one way or if it is someone you located thru the personals, go back to that personals page and try to search based on things you knew about the person (such as "racing" fan, age 25-35, from "FL").

The person could still be in your yahoo address book if you only deleted them off your messenger list. It depends on your personal settings.

first... indeed search on your yahoo address book. it includes both messenger and email address of every person you have contact to...
second... indeed try the log. open your yahoo messenger. on its menu bar, go to contacts and find message archive. if your settings have been set to save logs, you'll manage to retrieve your contact.
if both doesn't work, sad to say, there is no other way....
